What is a Planned Gift?
Some people’s legacies are written on monuments. Yours can be written on lives. The Lion Foundation has many financial planning options to help you plan your estate. The principal benefits of planned gifts accrue to The Lion Foundation at a later time, after your death or the death of your last named beneficiary. Planned gifts take many forms, providing additional income for you and/or your heirs, reducing income and estate taxes, relieving you and your heirs of complicated financial management responsibilities and helping to fulfill your personal, humanitarian and charitable objectives. Planned gifts can be made in cash, real estate, stocks, bonds, personal property or life insurance. Bequests by Will One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will in which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate after other disbursements. In addition to supporting The Lion Foundation, it serves as an example to your heirs of the values and ideals you hold dear. A bequest also can reduce the amount of your taxable estate, which may increase the actual amount available to loved ones. Join |

The Lion Legacy Society
We all desire significance – to lead happy and fulfilled lives surrounded by family and friends. And for many of us, there is a compelling need to make a difference – to leave a lasting impact on the people near us, our community, and the world in which we live.
What kind of legacy will you leave? A bequest is perhaps the easiest and most tangible way to have a lasting impact on the community that means the most to you. And, a bequest may be an effective way to make a gift and lessen the burden of taxes on your family and your estate.
A Variety of Options.
A gift may be made in several ways:
An Easy Gift To Make
A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your Will or Trust specifying a gift to be made to The Lion Foundation as part of your estate plan.
Benefits of a Charitable Bequest
A charitable bequest is a written statement in a Will or Trust that directs a gift to be made to a qualified exempt charity (The Lion Foundation) when you pass away. One benefit of a charitable bequest is that it enables you to further the good work of The Lion Foundation benefiting the Camp Hill School District and community long after you are gone. Better yet, a charitable bequest can help you save estate taxes by providing your estate with a charitable deduction for the value of the gift.
"I may be here for a short while, gone tomorrow into oblivion or until the days come to take me away. But, in whatever part you play, be remembered as part of a legacy...of sharing dreams and changing humanity for the better. It’s that legacy that never dies."

Every year, names of new members of the Legacy Society will be added to our web site, to ensure proper recognition of those who have made a commitment to the future of The Lion Foundation. In addition, Legacy Society members will receive a commemorative lapel pin to recognize their support, and will be invited to our annual members luncheon.
Why Have a Legacy Society?
Sometimes a charitable bequest goes unrecognized, because it comes at the end of a donor’s life. The Lion Foundation Legacy Society was formed to recognize those individuals and families who have remembered The Lion Foundation in their estate plans through a documented planned gift. Thus, the Society provides a way for The Lion Foundation to recognize and thank donors during their lifetimes. You may choose to remain anonymous; however, your participation in the Legacy Society can be an inspirational experience and may encourage others to participate.
How Do I Become A Member?
If you have already made a planned gift or have included The Lion Foundation in your Will, you are already eligible for Legacy Society membership. If not, you may become a member of the Legacy Society simply by notifying us that you have named The Lion Foundation as a beneficiary in your will or estate plan. To do this, call The Lion Foundation at (717) 775-5170.
