Frequently Asked Questions
Recognizing the importance of planning for the future, our goal is to establish an endowment of at least $1.5 million over the next five years to maintain the renovated facilities for future generations. These funds will be used for the long-term repair and replacement of the Siebert Park stadium facilities such as turf field, track, bleachers, field house, press box, softball field, basketball court and tennis courts. Please join us in giving to the Siebert Park Endowment Fund. Funds raised will be placed in a restricted account to be used only for the long-term maintenance and upkeep needs of this facility.
Why are recreational and athletic facilities important to our community/schools?
Athletic and other extracurricular activities are an important part of the well-rounded education that the Camp Hill School District provides its students. More than 75% of students participate in extracurricular activities. Siebert Park is also a source of civic pride and a much-loved gathering place for our community, where we swim, stroll through the park, walk our dogs, watch our children perform in the band and on the fields, graduate and play tennis. Having recreational facilities for the community to use creates a healthy and vibrant community.
What is the overall community benefit of the Siebert Park Endowment Fund?
The vision of Camp Hill’s early leaders was to provide recreational and athletic facilities which would support and encourage a close-knit community spirit. For generations, Siebert Park has fulfilled this mission. However, after more than 60 years of heavy use, the stadium facility was in desperate need of repair. The new Siebert Park complex is a distinctive community resource for the present fitness and athletic needs of our residents. As a community, we feel it is important to plan for the future needs of our residents if we want to ensure these assets will remain for generations to come. We would like to give individuals who feel passionately about preserving these assets an opportunity to assist in their preservation. We also want to be sensitive to our taxpayers and find ways to fund these projects without direct expense to the community.
